The two map exhibitions described below will be given in commemoration of the IGU Kyoto Regional Conference. We hope many participants of the KRC will take this opportunity to enjoy viewing these amazing maps.
Old Maps Exhibition (pdf)
(July 31 – September 1, Kyoto University Museum) The special exhibition “Traditional Wisdom and Modern Knowledge presented in Maps” will be held in honor of the IGU Kyoto Regional Conference. Kyoto University is famous for its excellent collection of old maps. Please enjoy the maps carefully selected for our conference.
Location: Kyoto University Museum Date: July 31 (Wednesday) through September 1 (Sunday), 2013
★Please note that the museum is closed every Monday and Tuesday.
Time: 9:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (last entry: 4:00 p.m.)

Entrance fee: If you show your name tag of the Kyoto Regional Conference at the entrance of the museum, you will be able to enter at no cost. Otherwise, the entrance fee is 400 JPY per person.
Access:
1) From “Imadegawa” Station of Karasuma Subway Line: Please take Kyoto City bus #201 or #203 and get off at “Hyakumanben” bus stop.
2) From “Demachiyanagi” terminal station of Keihan Railway Line: Please walk eastward, away from the river, along Imadegawa Street. It takes about 15 minutes on foot from the station to the museum.
3) From “Kyoto” JR/Kintetsu Railway Station: Please take Kyoto City bus #17 or #206 and get off at “Hyakumanben” bus stop.
